Outlier is a Brooklyn-based men’s clothing brand that focuses on urban wear. Their core brand narrative is providing functional, innovative designs using proprietary fabrics that are made to last.
I visualized the narrative for their website by collaborating with founder Abe Burmeister in presenting a style indicative of the brand’s aesthetic of brutalism. This theme permeated the appearance and functions of the home page, navigation page, collection pages, and product pages. My interpretation of the brutalist visual concept led to the elimination of the restrictive visual boundaries between the desktop and mobile interface resulting in one integrated interface that showcased a massive, monolithic, and blocky appearance with rigid geometric style.
Home Page / Collection Page
The tile-view carousel and collection view represent the features of brutalist architecture associated with modular elements that are grouped into a unified whole.
Navigation
The pointy rectangular shape on the navigation page is styled and grouped with the unique company logo to convey a deconstructive visual.
